Vegetarian/Middle Eastern. The Pita Place is a food stand featuring homemade Middle Eastern food. They specialize in all thing’s pita including pita sandwiches filled with tasty ingredients like fresh fried falafel, hummus, tahini, and fresh vegetables. The menu is almost entirely vegan besides the Pita Scramble which includes eggs, the walnut baklava, and the labane. Be sure to try their classic Pita Falafel. The menu also features delectable take away options including containers of tahini, hummus, Harif, individual pitas, and frozen falafels. In the summer, you can enjoy fun life size games, like checkers and connect four, while eating in the sun. While in the winter, you can cozy up to your pita and perhaps a Turkish coffee in the inside sitting area. Be sure to check their Facebook page for their hours as they do change between the winter and summer season (https://www.facebook.com/MyPitaPlace/).

Thai. Although there are several Thai restaurants in Fairbanks, the Thai House Restaurant is a good choice for vegans. The food is great, the staff understands what 'vegan' means and can make sure all dishes ordered meet your needs. Try the Asparagus Special Dish. They even have two vegan desserts: the sticky rice with mango and "homemade" coconut ice cream. Make sure to visit the gift shop across the street and get them to show you the basement -- it is amazing! Reservations are accepted.
